Responsibilities

• HUC coordinates unit communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies; provides clerical support to physicians and staff.
• Provides direction to patients, families and visitors to promote a positive patient experience, under RN oversight.
• Tasks are performed in coordination with the RN and other team members.

**Position:** ER Tech/ Health Unit Coordinator **Department:** Emergency and Trauma Center **Shift:** 7AM-7:30PM/ 36 hours per week/ 72 hours per pay period**Facility:** Miami Valley Hospital The ER Tech/Health Unit Coordinator (ER Tech/HUC) role combines the essential roles of the ER Tech and HUC into one role that will function based upon operational needs.The ER Tech is a multi-skilled individual able to perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Identities abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and reports those findings to the Registered Nurse.The HUC is pivotal in the overall function of the unit including coordinating communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies. Provides clerical assistance to physicians and staff. Provides direction and guidance to patients, families and visitors while promoting a positive patient experience.
