Job summary

CHI Mercy Health is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department. You will perform delegated tasks from the RN or Physician, assist with patient transport, and provide clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, coordinating care with staff, monitoring vitals, preparing wounds, and applying dressings as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• 1 year of direct patient care experience
• Paramedic certification, EMT certification or completion of the second term of Nursing Curriculum
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provides support to physician with procedures and treatments.
• Coordinates patient care with professional and support staff.
• Performs delegated patient care tasks as assigned.
• Monitors patient vital signs and notifies the RN or physician if they change.
• Prepares wounds for suturing.
• Applies dressings when directed by professional staff.
