BluePearl Pet Hospital in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a full-time ER Service Head to lead ER clinicians, specialists, and the leadership team. The ideal candidate will hold a DVM, have completed an internship, and bring at least three years of ER experience with leadership potential.

The role includes managing clinician schedules, leading meetings, mentoring staff, integrating ER with specialty services, and helping recruit new clinicians.

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university.
• Successfully completed an internship.
• At least three years of ER experience.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the schedule for all ER Clinicians, including PTO requests.
• Facilitate ER Clinician meetings and hospital leadership meetings.
• Mentor ER Clinicians and new ER/ICU staff; oversee case management guidance.
• Integrate emergency and specialty services to manage hospitalized cases; liaison between ER and Specialty Clinicians and Medical Director.
• Assist in patient safety reporting for the emergency department.
• Contribute to recruiting new Emergency Clinicians with mentor support for retention.
• Assist in customer service issues and follow-up with management as needed.
• Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities and implement ER care improvements.
• Collaborate with leadership on ER/ICU personnel matters and performance reviews.
