Job summary

Butler Hospital is seeking a Security Guard to work in the Emergency Department and across the hospital campus. You will perform security screenings on all non-staff entering the department and assist clinical staff with de-escalation and patient interventions as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring the environment, conducting rounds, documenting incidents, and ensuring adherence to safety and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic hospital security and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform security screening procedures for non-staff entering the Emergency Department areas.
• Monitor patients, visitors, and environment to maintain a safe setting.
• Conduct routine rounds and report safety concerns or incidents.
• Assist clinical staff with de-escalation, patient interventions, and security-related support.
• Detect, confiscate, and securely handle prohibited items per procedures.
• Complete logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely.
• Follow hospital policies, safety, infection control, and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide professional, respectful service to patients, visitors, and staff.
