Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Safety Companion for the Emergency Room in our hospital in Virginia. This per diem role focuses on maintaining patient safety, reporting observations to the nursing team, and staying in visual contact with patients at all times under supervision of licensed personnel.

The ideal candidate is cheerful, cooperative, and maintains composure under stress. Required qualifications include age 18+, BLS certification prior to orientation, and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) prior to orientation.
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• The Safety Companion responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, reporting patient observation to nursing team, and remaining in visual contact with patient at all times unless otherwise instructed by licensed personnel.
• This job requires a person who is pleasant and cooperative and has a positive attitude. Works well with all levels of people and remains professional under stress.
