Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL, is seeking a PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with medical providers, teach patients and families, document care, and respond promptly to requests while upholding our standards of safety and compassion. This role requires a Florida RN license, nursing diploma/ASN, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC with relevant timelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Florida Registered Nurse license or appropriate compact licensure; active FL RN license within 60 days if compact.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year direct acute care Emergency Room RN experience for PRN status.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and/or ENPC, CPI, TNCC, NIHSS certifications with required timelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in the ER.
• Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered; document care promptly in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Prepare patients for future self-management and discuss non-medicinal follow-up measures such as lifestyle changes.
