Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, CA, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN performs direct patient care in Telemetry and ED, following the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and hospital staff.

Candidates must hold a current California RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certificates. ER experience is preferred; CEN and BSN are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certificates within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year ER staff nurse experience; ER setting preferred.
• CEN certification preferred; BSN preferred.
• MICN, EDAP, NRP, TNNC prerequisites and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry and the Emergency Department.
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards.
• Communicate patient condition changes to physicians and adhere to EMTALA requirements.

Education

Current and valid state RN License

BLS certificate

ACLS certificate

PALS certificate and/or ENPC

Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

MICN within 12 months of hire

EDAP certified facilities: pediatric course 1 & 2 within 6 months

NRP certificate 90 days upon hire

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months
