Job summary

Valley Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room on a per diem basis. The role covers first shift with responsibilities across assessment, planning, and patient education in a fast-paced ER setting.

Requirements include an RN license with state eligibility and BLS; 2 years ER experience; ASN/ADN required with BSN preferred. Per diem status allows flexible scheduling within a major regional health system.

Qualifications

• RN license required; Virginia multi-state or single-state license with eligibility in VA where applicable.
• BLS certification (Healthcare Provider) required prior to orientation.
• Two years of RN experience in ER or acute care settings.
• Must complete unit competencies and annual professional practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient teaching, safety initiatives and high quality communication with the health team.
• Act as charge nurse as needed and participate in unit initiatives and peer review.
• Maintain documentation and professional standards throughout care.
