Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services’ St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks an Emergency Room RN for night shifts. This full-time role requires rapid, expert care for patients arriving with emergencies in a high-volume environment.

Eligible candidates should hold an RN license, BLS and ACLS certificates; ER experience preferred. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available, with terms discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine severity and triage per protocols.
• Provide direct care including administering medications, wound care, monitoring vital signs, and pain management.
• Assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions (ACLS, PALS, trauma care).
• Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations while caring for multiple patients.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in clinical condition and test results.
• Comply with EMTALA regulations and report abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment options and discharge instructions.
