Job summary
Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department, working night shifts (7p–7a). The RN will provide safe, patient-centered care, perform direct patient care, and manage emergency situations. Candidates must have a valid RN license and preferably a BSN, along with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Experience in an acute care or E.R. setting is preferred. Sign-On Bonus available for qualified candidates.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED)
Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of care
Respond to acute changes, trauma, and life‑threatening conditions
Interpret labs, diagnostics, and patient symptoms
Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments
Educate patients and families on care and discharge instructions
