Job summary
Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a full-time, nights/weekends program. You will deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with a supportive team to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include assessment, planning, coordination, and evaluation of care for acutely ill patients while meeting ANA standards and hospital protocols. Night hours and weekend requirements are specified.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year of hire for ER.
- Pediatric Life Support certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
- Coordinate care with physicians, families, and health team members.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
- Direct care and supervision of any nursing assistants involved.
- Document plans and patient responses; ensure evidence-based practice.
- Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects.
- Maintain compliance with ethics, policies, and regulatory standards.
