Job summary
Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL is seeking a full-time Emergency Services Registered Nurse to join our ER team. You will assess, triage, and treat patients facing acute illness or trauma, working alongside physicians to stabilize patients quickly in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
This role requires a graduate nursing program, current Illinois RN license, and active BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Illinois RN license.
- Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
- Willingness to complete CPI training within 1 month of hire.
- TNCC or ITLS certification preferred.
- ECRN certification preferred.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, physical stamina, and emotional resilience.
Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and treat patients with acute illnesses or injuries
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to stabilize patients quickly
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor vital signs
- Educate patients and families throughout treatment
- Prioritize effectively and think on your feet in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
