Job summary

Rivers Health is seeking a fulltime Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services department. The RN will conduct initial patient assessments, develop and revise care plans, and provide education and discharge planning in collaboration with other disciplines.

Responsibilities include safe medication administration, documentation, and contributing to quality improvement efforts. A WV nursing license is required, with BCLS; PALS/ACLS preferred or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing with current WV license.
• BCLS certification required.
• PALS and ACLS preferred or obtainable within six months.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessment of patients.
• Formulates and revises plan of care and nursing diagnosis based on assessment.
• Revises care plans through continuous monitoring and evaluation.
• Delivers nursing care in a safe, timely manner per policies.
• Documents care accurately and comprehensively.
• Provides patient education and discharge planning with other disciplines.
• Delegates duties according to proficiency while maintaining accountability.
• Precepts and mentors new staff; supports education and staff development.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and CQI meetings.
• Cross-trains to other units as needed.
