Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Emergency Services. This full-time position involves 3x12 night shifts (7p-7a) with rotating weekends/holidays, and offers up to a $20,000 bonus for eligible candidates.

The ED team emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, safe staffing, and staff well-being while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PALS or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Trauma Nurse Course (BTNC) or equivalent within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage duties when assigned, identifies emergent patients and monitors patient flow.
• Provides primary nursing care to all patients within the ED team.
• Identifies arrhythmias and intervenes per procedures; communicates with physicians.
• Starts IVs, administers meds and IV fluids; titrates as ordered.
• Assists in CPR in the ED and supports code situations.
• Manages critically ill patients during transfers and provides handoffs.
• Monitors equipment and ensures proper functioning.
• Maintains ED equipment knowledge and safety practices.
