Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts in a fast-paced, team-centered environment with meaningful patient impact.

A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates. Starting pay for new graduates with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hr, with orientation of 10 weeks and potential for advancement within Sentara Health.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
• PALS required prior to completion of orientation
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (Preferred)
• Critical care experience in hospital preferred
• 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse Experience preferred
• Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
• Communication with patients and providers

Responsibilities

• The RN will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
• Design and implement personalized care plans and administer medications and treatments.
• Monitor patient responses and document all care in accordance with standards.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
