Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting. You will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate responses using the nursing process.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, active Texas RN license or compact license, and BLS/ALS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC/ATCN certifications with 90 days to obtain missing items. Rotating weekends/holidays and 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. schedule apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Nurse residency completion or equivalent experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Texas or compact license; BLS and ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC/ATCN certifications required or attainable on hire.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients and maintain professional relationships with Parkland staff and patients.
• Ensure compliance with state and hospital policies; monitor sanitation, infection control, safety, and supply utilization.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and respond to changes in condition; notify providers and implement orders promptly.
• Administer medications safely using six rights and maintain IV access; perform Point of Care testing as needed.
• Document accurately in patient care records and ensure records meet department standards.
• Identify process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and care delivery.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain licensure and required certifications.
• Provide handoffs and information exchanges when care is transferred.
