Job summary

Alta Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to respond rapidly to life-threatening and urgent cases, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires CA RN licensure, BSN preferred, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) with ED experience. Expect variable shifts, patient advocacy, and leadership for new staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active, current RN license in California.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• One year of ER experience or ED training including EMTALA/ESI5 within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and administer medications, including IV titrations, in ED.
• Develop care plans and discharge planning aligned with patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to ensure efficient ED throughput.
• Respond to Code Blues as assigned and advocate for patients.
