Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking a day shift, full-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in Tyler, TX. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to a broad patient population in a Level I trauma center setting.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, follow physician orders and hospital protocols, and participate in orientation and ongoing professional development. A valid Texas RN license and required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) is required.
• Must maintain current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS is required before the end of orientation.
• PALS or ENPC is required before the end of orientation.
• NIHSS certification before the end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide appropriate nursing care.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on assessment and uses the nursing process to plan care accordingly.
• Delivers care in line with physician orders, protocols, and hospital/department policy.
