Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department at Allegheny General Hospital. The role focuses on assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities for the assigned service and maintaining clinical expertise to meet patient care needs.

The position requires a Master's Degree in Nursing, 3 years RN experience, knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and formal or informal teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• 3 years RN experience in an Emergency Department.
• Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• 1 year demonstrated formal or informal teaching experience.
• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR - American Heart Association.
• Act 34/Act 33/Act 73 background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
• Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans and programs.
• Serves as a consultant for staff in program development and clinical practice.
• Participates in coordination and continuity of orientation programs.
