ER RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Weekdays, some weekends, rotating holidays
• Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Estimated Patient Ratios: 3.5:1
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1720

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent emergency room nursing experience (ER RN experience required)
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (required for emergency nursing jobs)
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations in a hospital setting
• Perform triage, assessment, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and IV therapies
• Manage arterial and central lines, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to STEMI and stroke emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and interpretation services
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic health records
• Participate in rotating holiday and weekend coverage as part of the ER nursing team
