ER RN Job Details – Houston, Texas

• Location: Houston, TX 77090
• Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department (9 beds)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekend shifts every 2 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1730

ER Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a main Emergency Room (ER) setting
• Experience in a designated trauma facility required
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NRP certifications
• Proficiency with Lucas Device, Nurse-run Lab, Ventilator, CPAP/BiPAP, Blanketrol, and Lifepack 15 preferred
• Experience with lab equipment (Picolo, Istat, Triage Meter, ID Now, Clinitek) is a plus
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to manage high-acuity patients with limited staff
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver emergency nursing care to patients in a 9-bed freestanding ER
• Assist with and perform procedures: chest tube placement, intubations, conscious sedation, wound repair, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and ventilator management
• Operate and troubleshoot emergency and laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with a small team of ER nurses to ensure excellent patient care and efficient department operations
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Meditech EMR
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment
