Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Resource Nurse to mentor new graduates and transitioning nurses, while supporting multiple units with guidance on nursing practice and regulatory compliance.

You will conduct rounds, provide feedback on assessments and care planning, and assist with skills performance. Strong leadership, ACLS/PALS/ENPC and NIHSS credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Florida RN with current license or compact licensure with FL registration within 60 days of hire.
• Two+ years as an RN; precepting and leadership experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS/ENPC, NIHSS certifications required or maintained.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to educate staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds on nursing units to assess care quality and educational needs.
• Provide feedback on assessments, planning and evaluation of patient care.
• Mentor new graduates and transitions to new specialties across multiple units.
• Attend rapid responses and codes to support nursing staff and debrief learning.
• Maintain contact accessibility for new graduates and track education requests.
