Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, NM seeks a PRN ER Registrar to support Emergency Room Registration. You will manage patient intake, verify insurance, collect payments, and ensure accurate records while delivering compassionate service.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining consent, updating records, and coordinating with clinical teams to keep emergency operations efficient. This role requires attention to detail and strong customer service under pressure.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Register patients for emergency services, obtaining all required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verify patient identification and insurance details, updating records as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and explain each consent prior to signing.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect patient co-pays/deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolve questions.
• Document thoroughly when patients/signers cannot sign and obtain nurse sign-off when needed.
• Identify proper insurance plan codes to ensure accurate payment.
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Place armband on patients for identification during their stay.
• Notify departments/physicians of patient arrival and follow up if waiting.
• Maintain communication during emergency codes and alert when plans are in place.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
