Northwest Sahuarita Hospital in Sahuarita, AZ is seeking a full-time Registrar to support our Emergency Room Registration department. The position involves accurately capturing demographic and insurance information in person and by phone, scheduling procedures, and securing necessary authorizations.

You will maintain complete patient records and provide outstanding customer service, with day shifts on Thursday 6 hours and Friday-Sunday 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, reporting to the registration/ER team.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of healthcare registration experience required.
• 0-2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients to provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulate schedules based on procedures, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Pre-register patients by obtaining accurate demographic information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Collect and record patient financial responsibility estimates.
• Communicate operative reports daily to appropriate physician offices.
• Maintain registration documentation to ensure complete patient records.
• Answer calls and provide professional customer service.
