Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Association in Fairfield, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN Emergency Department shifts. The role includes direct patient care, triage, medication administration, and patient education within a fast-paced ED environment.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree, IL RN license, BLS, and ACLS/PALS/TNCC or TNS within specified timeframes. This position offers a $40.00/hour rate with weekday/night and weekend differential and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Illinois RN license.
BLS Certification.
ACLS certification within 3 months of hire; PALS within 6 months; TNCC or TNS within one year; Pediatric education 8 hours every 2 years.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, monitoring, and documentation.
Accurately triage patients and respond to emergent situations.
Administer medications and IV therapies safely and effectively.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Supervise and orient Emergency Department Technicians and new staff.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide quarterly updates on departmental action plans.
