Job summary

Topeka ER & Hospital is seeking an ED Registered Nurse (PRN) to deliver urgent, evidence-based care to patients in a busy emergency department. You will perform rapid assessments, triage, and administer medications according to protocols while collaborating with physicians and support staff.

The role requires two years of ER experience, Kansas nursing licensure, and current BCLS/CPR; ACLS, PALS or ENPC/TNCC are preferred.

Qualifications

Two years of emergency room experience are required.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Current BCLS/CPR; ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC preferred.
Read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

Patient Assessment: conduct head-to-toe assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
Triage: assign triage categories based on urgency.
Emergency Care: provide care to patients of all ages per protocols.
Medication Administration: administer medications with five rights.
Supervision: oversee ER Technicians and other staff for efficient workflow.
Patient Advocacy: communicate procedures and plans to patients and families.
Collaboration: work with physicians to develop and implement care plans.
Infection Control: maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Continuous Education: participate in training and quality initiatives.
