Job summary

The Martin County Hospital District in Stanton, TX seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide total nursing care for assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge.

You will administer medications per physician orders, coordinate care with other departments, and cross-train to all patient care areas to ensure safe staffing. Texas RN license and CPR/BLS required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current Texas RN license or licensure from a compact state.
• CPR/BLS certification required or to be obtained upon hire.
• ACLS/PALS/TNCC credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge process of each assigned patient.
• The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice.
• The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment.
• Cross-trains to all patient care departments to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.

The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment. Cross-trains to all patient care departments to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.

Licenses/Certificates

• Current Registered Nurse license certified by the State of Texas or licensure from a state within the nursing compact required.
• Hold current CPR/BLS or obtain upon hire.
• Credentials in an advanced cardiac life support course (e.g. ACLS or hospital equivalent) preferred
• Credentials in a nationally recognized pediatric advanced life support course (e.g. PALS or ENPC) preferred
• TNCC preferred

Experience

One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse in a hospital environment preferred.
