Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith is seeking experienced registered nurses to join a patient-centered team in a world-class environment created by a $162 million ER/ICU expansion. The ER expanded to 50 rooms and the ICU to 64, increasing capacity and annual visits while upholding Mercy Service Standards.

We require graduation from an accredited nursing program and an active RN license (state or compact). Certifications may be required based on unit and timeline, including BLS and others as listed.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM).

Position Details:

Mercy Fort Smith has undergone a $162 million expansion of its ER and ICU. The ER has expanded from 29 to 50 rooms, and the ICU went from 38 to 64 rooms. This expansion enabled approximately 25,000 additional patient visits per year. This significant development allows us to better meet the needs of our community in a world-class environment.

Seeking experienced RN's!

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN). Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Experience: Certifications: - Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe: - ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses) - OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) - S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules - C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification) - Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
