Job summary

You will triage patients, perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor cardiac status, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and staff. ACLS/PALS as required; state license; BCLS current.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• Registered RN in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS certified within 6 months of hire.
• PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting.
• Safely and rapidly triages patients to determine priorities.
• Communicates with ED physicians about status, symptoms and test results.
• Responds quickly to changes in condition or treatment response.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets results; applies cardiac monitoring.
• Performs waived testing per policy and acts on results.
• Adheres to medication rights and manages IV therapy as ordered.
• Maintains patient documentation and participates in performance improvement.
