Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orangeburg Emergency Department, a Level III trauma center. You will provide professional nursing care, coordinate planning with a multidisciplinary team, and support patient safety during high-acuity situations.

Regularly handle infectious disease exposure, emergencies, and varied shifts. A Bachelor of Nursing is preferred; SC RN license and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinate care planning with other disciplines.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care.
• Evaluate outcomes of patient care and revise nursing care plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Coordinate discharge planning and monitor patient conditions.
• Mentor new staff and provide patient safety and quality of care.
