Job summary

The MUSC Orangeburg Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma Center and is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a diverse healthcare team that delivers care guided by research and best practices. You will provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinate care planning with other disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required and RN licensure in SC or compact state.
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories and assesses patients’ conditions per policy.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and direct patient care.
• Evaluates outcomes and revises nursing care plans to optimize care.
• Coordinates discharge planning and hand-offs with the team.
• Monitors and records patient condition and maintains confidentiality.
• Mentors new staff and supports teaching plans for patients and families.
