Job summary

Covington Hospital in Kentucky seeks an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide urgent, evidence-based care to patients presenting with acute conditions. The ED RN will perform rapid assessments, triage, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to stabilize patients across all ages.

Applicants must have two years in emergency care, be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold a current state license, and maintain BCLS/CPR; ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and

Qualifications

• Two years of emergency department experience
• Current licensure with the State Board of Nursing
• BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC preferred
• Education appropriate for age-specific ER care (neonates to geriatrics)
• English fluency and clear communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid patient assessments and triage to determine priorities
• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages and monitor evolving conditions
• Administer medications following the five rights and hospital protocols
• Supervise support staff and coordinate with physicians for care plans
• Communicate with patients and families to explain procedures and care
• Maintain infection control standards and participate in quality improvement
