Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team. You will advocate for patients and families while utilizing established nursing models to support exceptional outcomes and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice and/or an active compact license
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• < 1 year applicable experience

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes and prepares patients for future self-management.
