Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. seeks a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within an interdisciplinary team. The role emphasizes adherence to clinical standards, infection control, charting, and patient-family education in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will maintain knowledge through ongoing education, ensure quality of care, and support safe operations across departments, with travel between Independence Health locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Strong leadership, organizational, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.
• A nursing refresher course may be required if not worked in an acute care setting in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a designated group of patients.
• Coordinate and participate as an effective member of the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending education workshops and reviewing publications.
• Adhere to infection-control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and regulations.
• Document patient care in records and communicate actions to maintain continuity.
• Provide compassionate environment and educate patients and families.
• Maintain equipment operation and nursing supplies inventory; travel between locations.
