Job summary

American Geriatrics Society in Plainfield, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse — Emergency Department for the Evening shift. The role is full-time (36 hours per week) with hours from 3:00pm to 3:00am, including every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The position requires a BSN or higher, IL RN license, and CPR; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS certifications within set timeframes. Competitive pay ranges are offered based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing; if associate degree in nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a bachelor’s degree in nursing within five years of position start date.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
• CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross); ACLS within three months; PALS within three months; NIHSS within three months.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors progress, and records pertinent observations.
• Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff and collaborates as a unit team to meet goals.
• Duties may vary by unit or shift, continuing to ensure safe, quality care.
