Job summary

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role provides daily nursing care, coordinates patient care plans, and participates in patient and family education. You will lead with ED colleagues to maintain high standards of practice.

Candidates must hold NY state RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ED experience, with NIHSS recertification and ENA/ER-BKAT modules within specified timeframes. A BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program.
• Current registration as RN in New York State.
• BLS validation.
• ACLS validation within six months of hire/transfer.
• PALs certification within one year of hire/transfer.
• Cardiac Rhythm exam within six months of hire/transfer.
• Six months ED experience.
• NIHSS within twelve months of hire/transfer with recertification every two years.
• ENA modules prior to ED RN Orientation; ER-BKAT within six months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily nursing care following policies and standards of practice.
• Coordinate total nursing care by assessing and evaluating patients.
• Lead collaboration with ED staff and other teams for safe patient care.
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
