HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge in Colorado is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department to coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast paced setting. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to assess, treat and discharge or admit patients with compassionate, evidence‑based practice.

The ideal candidate holds Colorado RN licensure (or multi‑state), BCLS, ACLS and PALS, with 1–2 years acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, BSN desired
• 1 to 2 years acute care/specialty nursing desired
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado or current multistate license
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Inst must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
