Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Emergency Room Physician for the Providence Healthcare System in Rhode Island. This is an intermittent permanent appointment in the Emergency Department, with hours on an as-needed basis.

The staff physician provides acute emergency care, maintains ACLS/BCLS certifications, and participates in credentialing, teaching Brown University medical students, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to patients in the ED.
• Maintain ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Participate in credentialing, privileging and quality oversight.
• Teach and supervise residents and medical students when applicable.
