Job summary

GEMD seeks an experienced ER Physician for on-site, per diem coverage in the Tampa area (Hillsborough - North Tampa).Responsibilities include evaluating patients, performing H&P, and delivering timely, quality emergency care in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include 5+ years in ER, FL license (MD or DO), ABEM/AOBEM board certification, active DEA and ACLS. Travel between local facilities within a 50‑mile radius is helpful.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ recent experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• State MD or DO license.
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM).
• Active DEA License and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients of all ages with mild to moderate medical complaints.
• Perform H&P and physical exams; interpret diagnostic tests.
• Provide quality patient care with a target door-to-provider time under 30 minutes.
• Perform typical ER procedures (I&D, sutures, pelvic exams).
• Coordinate follow-up within our facility or with specialists.
