Job summary

Sanitas is seeking an experienced ER Physician for per diem shifts in the Tampa Bay area. The role requires residency in Florida, board certification in Emergency Medicine, an active DEA license, and ACLS.

You will work on-site across local facilities within a 50-mile radius, providing high-quality emergency care. Responsibilities include H&P, exams, test interpretation, and developing treatment plans while coordinating follow-up and supporting mid-level providers.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ recent experience working in an Emergency Room setting.
• Must hold MD or DO license.
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM).
• Active DEA License.
• ACLS certification.
• Clear and active Florida license.
• Must be credentialed within each facility performing shifts.
• Must pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test.
• Able to stand for a 12-hour shift.
• Travel between local facilities within 50 miles is helpful.
• Physicians currently employed by medical marijuana clinics are ineligible for hire.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients of all ages with mild to moderate medical complaints; perform H&P and physical exams; make quality medical decisions.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and generate a quality treatment plan; write prescriptions.
• Perform ER procedures (I&D, sutures, pelvic exams).
• Arrange follow-up within our facility or with a specialist.
• Review results from outside labs/imaging and plan care accordingly.
• Support Mid-Level providers on shift; maintain door-to-provider time under 30 minutes.
• Utilize organizational software and adhere to security policies.
