Qualifications

• Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
• Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA).
• BLS and ACLS. PALS required per delineation of privileges.

Responsibilities

• Elicit detailed and accurate history and perform appropriate physical examinations on inpatients and outpatient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs BLS and ACLS procedures in life threatening situations when a Physician is unavailable.
• Assists the supervisor Physician and back up Physicians on procedures within the scope of practice.
• Instructs and counsels patients and families about preventative care and treatments.
• Participates in team conferences, lectures and grand rounds.
• Documents progress notes and updates physician on patient condition.
• Initiates consultations and refers for special testing as needed.
