Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
• Board certified in occupational medicine, family practice, emergency medicine or internal medicine or eligible and certified within one year of hire.
• Fluency in Spanish language is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical care and follow-up evaluations.
• Maintains knowledge of the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and OSHA recordability; competency as assessed by case management review.
• Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures affecting medical practice, judgement and quality of occupational health services.
• Coordinates work with the physicians and staff and provides coverage to other emergency medicine locations.
• Supervises the Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
• Performs and directs medical quality improvement activities.
• Acts as a liaison with the medical community.
• Demonstrates competency in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Orders and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Initiates referrals and consultations as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity and proper release of information.
• Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding safety and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
• Demonstrates Performance Improvement in Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
• Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
• Complies with attendance and dress code.
• Demonstrates competency in age-related assessment and communication.
• Other related duties as assigned.
