Job summary

Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD, seeks an experienced Emergency Department Pharmacist to join a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team. Embedded in the ED, you will provide direct pharmaceutical care, respond to medical emergencies, and support resuscitations with timely, evidence-based medication management.

Responsibilities include optimizing therapy for critically ill patients, antimicrobial selection, dosing, toxicology, and transitions of care, plus education for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with license in good standing.
• Experience in hospital or ED setting preferred.
• Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in emergency medicine or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide medication support during resuscitations.
• Optimize therapy for critically ill and complex patients; resolve medication-related problems.
• Support antimicrobial selection, dosing, toxicology, procedural sedation, and transitions of care.
• Participate in education, quality-improvement, protocol development, and precepting students/residents.
