Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a 60% Patient Care Technician for the North Liberty Medical Center. Under RN supervision, you will assist the Nursing team with patient care tasks, including EKGs, room setup, transport, and daily charting.

Position offers part-time merit schedule with rotating day, evening, and night shifts, weekend and holiday rotation. Experience in ER or EMT-B and CNA credentials are valued as you support a busy ED environment in North Liberty, IA.

Qualifications

• Direct patient-care experience required or preferred.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs throughout the ED and hospital.
• Set up rooms for patient admission and care.
• Clean equipment and patient bedside areas.
• Transport patients by bed, cart, or wheelchair.
• Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing unit.
• Enter daily patient record charting in the computer.
