Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician IHR to support patient care in the ED. The Paramedic works with the RN and physicians, collects data, assists with basic care, and administers treatments within their scope of practice.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, performing procedures, wound care, IV management, and assisting OB/GYN care as needed. Qualifications require EMT licensure in Illinois and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current EMT-P licensure in the State of Illinois or EMT-B licensure in the State of Illinois with at least one year of relative experience in a similar capacity.
• CERT Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• The Paramedic functions under the direction of the Emergency Nurse (RN) and Physician and collects pertinent data within their certification scope.
• Assists patients with basic care needs and reports clinical findings to the RN and Physicians.
• Administers treatments and various procedures as ordered by the physician and directed by the Nursing staff.
• Performs wound care, sterile technique and IV management as required.
