Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team. You will provide patient care under RN/Physician supervision and respond to emergent situations while assisting with procedures and education.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, collecting health histories, administering medications, and supporting labs and imaging as needed. Licensure and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS must be obtained before orientation end.

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa EMT-Paramedic licensure.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to orientation completion.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by the provider.
• Performs IV/IO access and phlebotomy as needed.
• Performs ECGs and Nebulizer treatments under provider guidance.
• Transports patients with blood products and follows critical results policy.
• Educates and discharges patients with pre-approved materials.
