Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL seeks an Emergency Department Paramedic to join a fast-paced team delivering skilled, timely care where every second counts. You will gather critical details, perform treatments, monitor patients, and maintain a safe, dignified environment while collaborating with ED personnel for seamless patient handoffs.

The role requires Florida paramedic/EMT licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or plan to obtain).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school for paramedics or completion of Emergency Technician program.
• Current Florida License as Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician.
• Current BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association; or agreement to obtain by completion of 6 months of employment.
• Basic Arrhythmia course completion with minimum 16 hours of instruction preferred.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Stay in continuous communication with providers, nurses, and EMS to ensure seamless patient handoffs and coordinated care.
• Monitor vital signs, document clearly, and deliver treatments with precision and accuracy.
• Perform tests, administer medications, and therapies within scope with confidence.
• Respond rapidly in emergencies, identify patient needs early and help manage pain.
• Keep patient areas safe and organized by managing equipment and addressing hazards
