Job summary

Texas Health HEB in Bedford, TX is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) for a fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department. The role supports an interdisciplinary care team with physician delegation and advanced clinical skills during night shifts.

Requirements include EMT-P or LP, ACLS/BCLS/PALS, CPI within specified timelines, and 3 months paramedic experience or internship. Benefits, 401k, and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship; 1 year EMS or Fire Dept preferred.
• EMT-P required or LP license.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• PALS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers IV fluids and medications under physician delegation, using barcode verification.
• Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Maintains attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs.
• Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices.
• Cervical collar management.
• External defibrillation.
• Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application.
• Oral airway insertion and removal.
• Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access.
• Draw blood from ports.
• Other duties as assigned by the care team.

PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
