Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital is seeking an ER House Supervisor Registered Nurse to lead the ED team in the absence of upper management and to provide direct patient care. The role requires an active Texas RN license, 5+ years in supervision, and ACLS/PALS or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.

You will ensure a clean, therapeutic environment, oversee admissions and procedures, monitor patient status, and educate patients and families while maintaining accurate records and coordinating

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas is required.
• Minimum five years of supervision in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS; ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Strong leadership, communication, and patient-care coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ER operations and patient care in absence of senior management.
• Provide direct patient care and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Ensure clean, therapeutic ER environments and proper room readiness.
• Admit patients and prepare for procedures, documenting in medical records.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to physicians.
• Educate patients and families, offering emotional support as needed.
• Implement physician orders timely and accurately; ensure privacy compliance.
• Coordinate transfers and ensure EMTALA compliance when moving patients.
