Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Centralia is seeking a pre-licensure nurse resident to deliver age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision within our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.

This role supports multiple states’ guidelines (Illinois emphasis) and requires successful NCLEX completion in Illinois. The program includes hands-on training, competency development, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program or education equivalency for licensing
• For Illinois: NCLEX passing score required
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN Preceptor, performs delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in nursing care activities.
• Performs patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual and age appropriate needs.
• Develops patient education plan and provides patient/family health coaching.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation per policy and procedure.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
• Participates in training to understand and perform patient care.
• Completes competency requirements and ongoing training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
